MD RECORDING
ABOUT THE INDEX MARK
The unit registers index marks while recording on an MD.
Index marks allow you to easily locate the desired tracks.
When recording from a CD
The index mark information recorded on the CD is copied as it
is.
When recording from a tape
An index mark is registered automatically when a sound signal
is input after a blank section lasting more than 3 seconds.
When recording from radio
The index mark information is registered every 5 minutes.
NOTE
There may be a case where index marks are not registered
accurately.
MANUAL MARK FUNCTION
When recording using the w MD REC button (page 21), you
can record index mark information anytime you want by pressing
the ENTER button.
To prevent accidential erasure of recorded material
Slide the record-protect tab as shown below.
Slide the tab so that it is completely locked.
If a recording is attempted when the tab is set to the protected
position, "Protected" appears on the display. Move the protect-
tab to the original position.

To record on a previously recorded MD
If there is an unrecorded section left on the MD, the new recording
automatically starts from where the previous recording finished.
If you want to start recording from the beginning of a previously
recorded MD, erase the previous recording completely. (See
page 25.)
To check the recordable time of the MD
Press the FUNCTION button on the remote control to select other
than MD, and load an MD. Then press the DISPLAY button on
the remote control (or the DISP button on the main unit).
The recordable time on the MD is displayed for 5 seconds.
